Barista

We at The Storytelling Company run the BMW Motorrad Welt Berlin – a venue covering around 1,000 m² for motorbike enthusiasts, the community and anyone who loves the sound of freedom. In our showroom, you can experience the latest BMW motorcycles up close, discover exclusive special exhibitions, and explore the current Gear & Garment collection as well as Original BMW Motorrad accessories. At the heart of our location is the Bistro – the perfect spot to relax and connect. Right next to it, you’ll find our shop featuring the latest Gear & Garment collection and stylish merchandise. In addition to our daily bistro operations, we regularly host exciting events: from season openings and movie nights to travel talks and live podcasts – there’s always something happening here.

We are currently looking for an experienced barista (m/f/d) to look after our guests in the bistro, with solid experience in preparing speciality coffees and drinks, who can offer our guests a high-quality bistro experience. You will work independently, keep an eye on the entire bistro’s operations and ensure that all processes – from ordering stock and daily planning to closing the till – run smoothly. You are a true team player, particularly during our events, and can also guide and support external colleagues when needed. You’ll be the point of contact for guests and play a key role in ensuring that everything runs smoothly. The bistro is open from Monday to Saturday (except on public holidays) between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Opening hours may vary during events.

Your Responsibilities

• Preparation of coffee and beverage specialties at a professional level

• Friendly and competent service for our guests

• Operation of the cash register system and handling payments

• Assisting with inventory orders and stock management

• Support during events, catering, and special functions

• Ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and a welcoming bistro atmosphere

• The ability to work independently and to take the initiative

• Several years´ experience as a barista, as well as the ability to interact confidently with guests

• Experience with cash register systems

• Reliability, team spirit, and a positive attitude

• Excellent German and English language skills

• A young, motivated, and dedicated team

• Exciting and varied events: movie nights, live podcasts, season openings/closings

• Provision of a team outfit 

• Deutschlandticket (train ticket) included

• A salary based on a full-time equivalent of €2,850 gross

• For a mini-job: a salary of €603 for 38.5 hours per month

• Fixed-term contract initially until December 2027

• Pro-rated vacation entitlement, based on 26 vacation days for a full-time position
