Your mission

We’re looking for an experienced AV CAD Designer who excels in AV / construction drawings to join our growing AV team. This is a highly technical and detail-oriented role, critical to translating complex AV concepts into precise, build-ready documentation that ensures successful project execution.

This role is ideal for someone who combines expert drafting skills with a deep understanding of construction documentation and a basic AV background: someone who can bridge the gap between design intent and field installation across both U.S. and European project landscapes.

Working closely with our AV Solution Architects and project stakeholders, you will play a leading role in producing and evolving our CAD documentation standards, empowering both project outcomes and team development. While based in our Zwaag office, you will be working on diverse global projects.

In this role you'll be responsible for the following:

• Translate conceptual AV designs into precise, professional 2D CAD drawings using appropriate tools (Vectorworks and ConnectCAD experience not a requirement, but would be beneficial).
• Create and maintain drawing packages including floor plans, RCPs, elevations, device layouts, signal flow diagrams, and cable routing plans.
• Develop detailed ConnectCAD schematics for AV signal and power pathways.
• Coordinate technical documentation with architectural, MEP, and GC teams to ensure full design alignment.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant codes and standards - particularly U.S. electrical, low-voltage, and construction standards as well as applicable EU guidelines.
• Maintain version control, layer naming, and internal drafting protocols.
• Contribute to internal documentation libraries and help set and elevate company-wide CAD standards.
• Collaborate on occasional 3D coordination tasks or BIM deliverables (.ifc workflows).
• Support, mentor and elevate colleagues in drafting practices and documentation quality.

Your profile

• 5+ years of experience in AV, construction, low-voltage, or electrical CAD drafting.
• Expert-level proficiency as CAD draftsperson (portfolio or sample set required).
• Strong understanding of AV system signal flow, rack layouts, and structured cabling.
• High confidence reading and interpreting architectural, MEP, and electrical plans.
• Working knowledge of U.S. construction and electrical standards is required.
• Comfortable contributing to 3D/BIM workflows, even if primary focus is 2D.
• Strong sense of ownership, structure, and pride in documentation quality.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus.
• Based in the Netherlands and able to work on-site in our Zwaag office.
